IT, health and science expertise for best practice patient care
CliniSys Group is the market-leading provider of Order Communications software and Laboratory Information Management in the UK and Europe.
Headquartered in England, and with local offices in six European countries, we have the depth of knowledge and breadth of expertise to support your organisation, wherever you are based.
Speaking your language
People are at the heart of our business. Our team is made up of experienced biomedical scientists, software innovators and healthcare experts, so we understand the complexities of your work and the priorities you face. We have the proven technical expertise to develop solutions which save you time and enhance the service you provide to patients.
But we also appreciate that different regions have different needs. That’s why we’ve invested in building local teams across all our territories that speak your language – both linguistically and technically. Our local experts understand the different ways regional laboratories and health systems work and have developed solutions in your native language that work for your region.
Having WinPath Enterprise – a fully integrated, modern and high quality LIMS – is a huge advantage to our service
CliniSys’ story began when William Woodard Associates was founded in the UK by William Woodard and a group of pathology specialists who were passionate about offering better software for the pathology service. The company that would become known as CliniSys from 2008, began here.
The start of our NHS partnership
First full NHS site goes live with our specialist LIMS, building on dominance of the private sector pathology market, BUPA (now Spire), Nuffield Health, BMI, Ramsey, and previous adoption at NHS department level.
Starting as we mean to go on, our system adheres to all statutory requirements and continuous innovation is embedded in our approach, leading to ongoing improvement and enhancements to our software – something we remain committed to.
First Windows LIMS System
A big leap forward with the launch of our first Windows LIMS System, providing our users with a simpler and familiar user interface, alongside other new developments and tools to enhance productivity.
Working with NHS networks
CliniSys secures its first NHS network, connecting three hospitals – including a large teaching hospital – and delivering standardisation across the county. This proved to be the first of many multi-site solutions, which has grown further with the advent of NHS Pathology networks in the UK.
MIPS joins the CliniSys family
CliniSys acquires MIPS, the company that developed GLIMS and CyberLab, to become the largest European LIMS supplier, bringing our customers the combined benefits of broader expertise while retaining specialist local solutions.
CliniSys also acquired Torex Laboratory Systems, the company that owned and supported LabCentre, earlier the same year.
Logistics and Point of Care
2011 saw the launch of Logistics Management Solution for end-to-end sample traceability.
Also the year we formed our partnership with Siemens to deliver Point of Care Testing.
Growth of MIPS Germany
MIPS strengthens presence in Germany with the acquisition of MCS-LDS, one of the major laboratory information systems providers in Germany. This acquisition is the platform to expand our products and services in the German speaking countries.
CliniSys acquired by Roper
CliniSys is acquired by Roper Technology, whose healthcare division includes Sunquest and Data Innovations. We then merged Sunquest’s ICE business to become the market leading Order Communication Software supplier in the UK.
MIPS acquires Belgian Anapath LIS market leader Fresco Consult.
And, in what was clearly a busy year, CliniSys and hc1.com form a partnership to deliver a unique pathology relationship management solution, offering an innovative platform that enables labs to deliver the highest level of service to our customers.
New markets and services
MIPS acquires Cointec, a Spanish market leader of laboratory information software.
CliniSys plays a major role in supporting England’s primary HPV screening service, after securing contracts to provide its requesting and reporting software (ICE) to seven out of eight new laboratory hubs.
Supporting Covid-19 testing
CliniSys Group develops innovative solutions to increase test capacity across the UK and Europe to help tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. Continuous innovation also sees us launch GLIMS Genomics in France and the UK and provide Tissue Typing and Newborn Screening LIMS Solutions in the UK.
A fresh look for the CliniSys brand
CliniSys Group launches new website and branding. One brand and voice whilst delivering the same high level of localised support to our customers through the combined strengths and experience of the CliniSys and MIPS teams.
Sunquest Information Systems and HORIZON Lab Systems join the family
CliniSys acquires HORIZON Lab Systems and combines with Sunquest Information Systems to create one of the world’s largest organisations dedicated to diagnostics and laboratory informatics. The combined group will enable better public health outcomes through innovation in diagnostics and laboratory informatics technology.
