The 2017 ‘Trends Gazelles’ for the province of East-Flanders were named on March 15, 2017 by Trends/Tendances magazine. MIPS – as one of the fastest growing software companies in the province – was awarded the 50th ranking in the ‘Large Companies’ category, while obtaining the 3rd ranking for the software industry.
Inspiring role model
For 15 years, the Trends/Tendances magazine editorial staff has named 200 Trends Gazelles in each Belgian province. Trends Gazelles are fast-growing, competitive companies with a positive impact on their region’s business environment. They are a source of innovation and employment strength, and can be inspiring role models to other companies.
The companies are selected from the Trends Top 100,000 list of companies. The editorial staff ranks the companies according to growth in turnover, staff and cash flow, evaluated over a period of five years. To qualify as a Trends Gazelle, the company must have existed for at least five years and have created at least 20 jobs since its foundation. Finally, the editorial staff of Trends/Tendances checks whether the companies demonstrate sufficient operational independence.
“We are very pleased that the editorial staff of Trends/Tendances has highlighted, for the third year in a row, our strong growth with this nomination. But we couldn’t have achieved this result without our customers, staff, suppliers and other stakeholders,” says John Lebon, Chief Operations Officer for the MIPS Group.
“As a Flemish software company, we have already committed years of work to our European expansion. We are growing both organically and through acquisitions, which translates into a steady and stable increase in sales. In each of the countries where we have our own branches, we continuously seek new employees to strengthen our team. In this way, we can continue to supply products and services that help our customers optimise their lab processes. I’d like to take the opportunity to very sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to accomplishing this outstanding achievement.”
